Louis-Claude Daquin [1694-1772] was a virtuoso French organist, harpsichordist and composer.

	The Cuckoo of the title runs throughout this piece, which is the first piece in the third suite of Daquin's Pieces de Clavecin, and marked Vif ["lively"]. It is a Rondeau, with the main theme occurring three times separated by two couplets. I have a recording of a performance by George Malcolm; like GM, I've included a little "Easter Egg" at the end. Sequenced from the edition by Oesterle, published by Schirmer.
