Litolff, Henry

International Music Score Library Project [IMSLP] entry: Henry Litolff

Henry Litolff (1818-1891) was (perhaps surprisingly) a British composer, though his father was French, a PoW from the Napoleonic Wars. He had a somewhat colourful life, and was a prolific composer, pianist and publisher. He is known today basically for one piece. This is not it.

	Spinnlied [Spinning Song] is Litolff's Op 81, published 1853. Sequenced from my Star Folio copy; there are also two versions on IMSLP. You need a strong right wrist to play this, as there are the best part of three minutes of double-octave arpeggios.
