This short rondo is also known as La Voltigeuse, translated as
The Ballerina or The Little Rope Dancer, meaning a
trapeze artist or a tightrope walker or various other gymnastic
possibilities.
It is marked as a Rondo with two couplets, to be
played Allegro Spiritoso. Sequenced in 2021 from a collection The German Harpsichordists, edited by Pietro Montani, and published [undated] by G. Ricordi & Co (London) Ltd. The ornamentation and the staccato performance follows that edition; the registration is mine, and I have added some minor variations to the returns of the rondo. |
