Wiki entry: Anton Rubinstein
International Music Score Library Project [IMSLP] entry: Anton Rubinstein
Anton Rubinstein [1829-1894], not to be confused with his younger brother Nicolai, also a composer and pianist, was a Russian composer and pianist, who founded the Saint Petersburg Conservatory and taught Tchaikovsky.
|Ondine, Op. 1||MIDI||piano classical|
Ondine is subtitled Etude and dedicated to
Madame la Princesse Wolkhonsky.
It was composed in 1842, when Rubinstein was 13.
Not to be confused with Ravel's Ondine, the first piece of
Gaspard de la Nuit, and a much more difficult [and substantial] piece. |
Sequenced from the Star Folio version, and to be played Moderato, sempre legato, il canto ben marcato. There is a much slower version on YouTube; pass on whether that is better!
