Randolph Simpson seems to have disappeared from musical history. He is not mentioned in any of my reference books, and nor is there anything useful found by Google.

The Woodland Stream is a polka-mazurka in rondo form. The only further information I have is that Amazon dates it to 1882, and that my main copy was published by F. Pitman Hart & Co. Ltd., who started publishing in 1862.
This jaunty piece has little to do with woodland or streams, but it has a personal resonance. It was one of the pieces in my mother's book of music, and my first exposure to salon music. The introduction is a little weak; in performance, I commonly omit it. The piece is also a bit repetitive; sorry.
I have at least three copies; sequencing was done from the aforementioned copy.
