Fritz Spindler (1817-1905) was a prolific German composer, especially of salon pieces, over a wide range of difficulties.

Verbene [or Verbena] is Spindler's Op.158. No. 2.
There is a slight mystery, in that Phillip Sear on YouTube plays
Rosenblatter, also Op. 158, and dates it to (probably) the
late 1860s, but then comments that other editions show Op. 158 as
Deux Fleurs with component pieces, Mignonette
and Verbena. My edition is from Vol 6 of Spindler's compositions, published by Novello, Ewer and Co., and edited by Berthold Tours, and probably published 1893. Marked as Con moto, MM 108. This is one of a large collection of `flower' pieces.

Murmuring Rivulet, or Murmelnder Bach, Tonstueck
is from Spindler's Op. 113.
Marked Vivace, MM = 120. My edition is from Vol 6 of Spindler's compositions, published by Novello, Ewer and Co., and edited by Berthold Tours, and probably published 1893. No original copyright or date is visible, nor is one given by IMSLP, but the flyleaf is inscribed Presented to Miss A. Wolstenholme on Passing with Honours in the Preliminary Grade of the Incorporated Society of Musicians Exam in Pianoforte Playing. L. Teggin. Dec. 1893. Either Miss W was very good, or the preliminary grade was better than it is nowadays!
| Cascade | MIDI | piano salon | |
|
Cascade, subtitled Tonstueck fuer Piano (Tone piece for piano),
is Spindler's Op 323, has the direction
Massig schnell (moderately fast), MM 152. Sequenced mostly in 2017 from the PD version on IMSLP. What seems to me to be some eccentric pedalling and other expression markings are taken directly from the score!
