International Music Score Library Project [IMSLP] entry: Carl Maria von Weber
Carl Maria von Weber [1786-1826] was one of the leading German composers of the early 19thC, one of the first Romantics and a major influence on Chopin, Mendelssohn and Liszt. He is now best known for his operas, and especially their overtures, and for some clarinet pieces, but he also wrote for piano.

This piece was sequenced in 2023 from a copy in a collection
helpfully entitled Music.
There is a theme and seven variations, with a coda.
The theme is marked Andante con espressione, but
the variations differ widely in style and tempo. The book, which consists of six sections bound together, has absolutely no publisher or copyright information, but clearly dates from the late 19thC. I've omitted all the repeats, which double the length of the piece and add nothing musically. The pedalling follows the score, and is rather light. | |||
